The Port Hedland Seafarers Centre gratefully acknowledges the generous $20,000 grant from BHP to upgrade our suite of 12 year old computers. This will ensure we maintain our current services and allow us to upgrade our software to improve online and in centre experiences for seafarers, Port Hedland residents and tourists. Thank you BHP!

Merry Christmas to our Seafarers 2024
Thankyou to all our wonderful sponsors and the nearly 100 community members that turned up on Saturday 07 December 2024 to pack 2000 Christmas Hampers that were distributed in the week before Christmas to 84 ships. A special thanks to our many knitters who hand knitted the beanies that are most adored by our seafarers. Blessing to you all.

Making progress on a new Port Hedland Seafarers Centre!
The Minister for Ports, the Hon. David Michael, announced industry backing for a new Seafarers Centre in Port Hedland to support the 150,000 seafarers that visit the Pilbara each year. More |
"Seafarers don’t go home at the end of the day. It can be quite lonely and isolating, the life is quite hard, it’s a tough job, and it’s physically demanding."
The Port Hedland Seafarers Centre is one of over 300 Mission to Seafarers centres worldwide (with 28 in Australia) providing pastoral, practical and spiritual welfare to Seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs. Port Hedland is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, operates 24/7 every day of the year, is the world's largest bulk mineral export port (iron ore, lithium, copper concentrate, salt, manganese), and around 50,000 seafarers pass through annually.
